    Help! I'm Bored With Yoga.

If you've been doing yoga for a while, you've probably hit a wall a time or two. You've tried it in all different rooms, cold, hot and even super hot. If anyone has ever done Bikram, you know what I'm talking about. You've probably tried fast, heated classes (classes that invoke the solar qualities of yoga) and slower, more lunar classes.

And yes, every day you get on your mat is different. But if you've been practices for years, it can get... monotonous.

So here are a few ways to help you stop being bored with yoga and spice it up!

    1. Try it sans gravity.

Anti-Gravity Yoga, invented by Christopher Harrison, is a great way to shake up your yoga practice. It involves doing various poses using a silk hammock that is about 4-5 feet off the ground. The hammock is great because (a) it's a LOT of fun and (b) it can help you get to muscles and get into stretches that you wouldn't normally exercise. If you've ever laid on one of those back stretching boards, you probably have a good idea of how good it feels to hang upside down in the hammock. For those of you who like a little more fire, there are a ton of arm, back and ab workouts that the hammock takes to a whole new level.

    2. Get in the water.

Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) Yoga is another great way to change it up and fight yoga bordem. The lack of stability of the board and the water makes it a challenge to do even the basic poses. If you've been doing crow for years and you could do it in your sleep, try it on the water and you'll find yourself using new muscles.

It's also a peaceful and light-hearted way to practice. You're surrounded by the ocean, which we at The Ocean Rx believe is calming. And if you try something and you fall, your only falling into the water, which is actually lot of fun!

    3. Get on a surfboard (on land).

This one is even less stable than SUP Yoga. The Surfset Fitness board is actually a surfboard, put on an unstable surface to give you an amazing core workout and challenge your balance.

'Typical' moves get harder as your body tries to assimilate to the new form factor and that challenges your muscles to work in new ways. This means you can build new muscle.

It's also fun and challenging for your brian to try something new.
